Jim Stephenson’s Once Upon a Symphony is a 50-minute showcase for chamber orchestra, designed to introduce young audiences to the wonders of the orchestra. It engages them in the compositional process, resulting in a unique world premiere created during each and every performance. An interactive, educational and entertaining show designed to introduce children of all ages to the instruments of the orchestra. Supremely crafted and well-paced, Once Upon A Symphony delights the students with bottle-music, hoseaphones, snake-charming oboes, powerful trumpets and more — always educating, always entertaining — so that the students are learning, loving and laughing about classical music throughout.
Homeschoolers and families are welcome at the 9:45am performance. For school groups, there are both 9:45am and 11:45am performance times. Please visit the School Programs page for ticketing information on both performance times.
